挫折教育即挫折感或挫折观教育,它具有引导性、渗透性、实践性的特征,其目的是通过教育使学生认识到遭遇挫折是一种生活常态,正确的态度应该是坦然面对、积极克服.挫折教育的功能在于：第一,提高学生的挫折认知能力,正确认识和对待所遇到的种种挫折；第二,提高学生积极主动地对待和处理挫折的能力,尽可能地减少或避免挫折带累的消极影响；第三,使学生学会正确地使用心理防卫机制,发展和提高他们对付挫折的心理调节能力.
