When it comes to the word "mother", it natually evokes senses of tenderness and tolerance deep down in everyone's heart. Wherever we are, we are like the kites our mothers are flying; whatever we hold in our hearts, the love of our mothers resembles a bright light illuminating our chests; whether or not our mothers are standing beside us, their figures and thier impacts are imprinted in our souls. With time flying by, with experiences enriching, this impression has been seeping deeper into our mind. The sentiments of all children towards their parents, to some extent, are no more different-- full of infinite admiration and considerable gratitude. To me, nonetheless, the sentiment is unparalleled.
My mother was born in October of the lunar calendar 1939. At that time, it was a genuine winter not only for the country but also for the family. Grandpa's family status and influence was sliding and my mother and grandma depended on each other for survival at an early age. However, when she grew older, my mother often regarded her childhood as the spring in October-- strikingly chilling yet occasionally sunny, because she felt her mother's affection. Additionally, grandma was a tough woman and she raised my mother as a boy. At an age when girls were not likely to receive education, she determined to support my mother's study. After my mother finished the study in the normal university, she started a career as a teacher for more than 30 years since 1960. Yejia River was the first place that my mother set out to teach students. After getting married with my father, she returned to her hometown and chose a school to continue her career until her retirement in 1994.
