1、“as if doing” 是 “as if + 与主句一致的主语 + 一般时（现在或过去）或进行时” 的省略,如：
 
He walked by at a leisurely pace, looking (as if having) all the time in the world.他悠闲地走过,仿佛时间对他来说是无穷无尽的.
　　【= (asif he had) all the time in the world.】
The cheats pretended to cut out cloth at the table,(as if making) the clothes for the emperor.骗子假装在案子上裁布,好像正在为皇帝缝制衣服. 
　　【= (as if they were making) the clothes for the emperor.】
 
2、“as if to do” 是 “as if + 与主句一致的主语 + 将来时”的省略,如：
 
 I made a fierce countenance (as if to) eat him alive.我恶狠狠地拉起脸来,仿佛要把他活生生地吞下去.
　　 【= (as if I would) eat him alive.】
He rushes out of the room,(as if to meet) some important person. 他冲出房间,好像是要去迎接某个重要人物似的.
　　【(as if he will meet some important person.】
