age 13,Cody Simpson is making his mark on the music world much like Justin Bieber did when he came on the scene last year.Hailing from Australia,this talented singer was discovered by Grammy-nominated producer Shawn Campbell after he watched Cody perform a cover of Jason Mraz's 'I'm Yours.' Sound familiar?
Cody then flew to the U.S.to record some tracks and was soon signed to Atlantic Records.He released his first single,'iYiYi' featuring Flo Rida,on June 1,and now the rising star is ready to unveil his new video for the song.
"Flo and I worked with some amazing people,including Colby O'Donis,Bei Major and DJ FrankE on my debut single," Cody says."We came up with something really catchy,and I think everyone can relate to the lyrics.The song is about liking a girl and missing her when she's not around.Who hasn't been through that?"
The video was directed by Mark Staubach,who has worked with the likes of Lupe Fiasco,Travie McCoy and The Cab."Basically it's just a fun,summer song,so we thought we'd come to the beach and just show Cody hanging out with some friends,cruising around on their bikes [and] flirting with some girls," he says of the video's concept.Ready to see how it turned out?Watch the full video and flip through our gallery of photos from the shoot below.
