你这个的话,最好用过去式,When I was a small boy , My parents went to a big citie(一个人不可能同时去多个城市的,如果父母去的是不同城市的话,就要换一种表述了) for work . I lived with my grandmother in the countryside. Very few people once cared about（这里你想用的是关心、在意吧） me about my studies, which contributed to the fact that I possess the strong abilities of dealing with things independently
