A B：“Hi,Welcome to our family!”
D E F：“Thanks .”
A:"My wife today will cook some Chinese food,I hope you would like it."
D:"Oh ,we love the Chinses food very much."
(at the meal)
F:"Oh,sorry,I know they are chopsticks,but I don't know how to use it."
C:"Don't worry ,I will show you how to use it."
E:"That's very kind of you.Could you tell us something about the Chinese table manners?We know only little about it.
B:"Sure ,The main difference between Chinese and western eating habits is that unlike the West,where everyone has their own plate of food,in China the dishes are placed on the table and everybody shares."
D:"Yes,that's very different,because we think it will be much healthier in that way."
A:"If it is a round table,the guests can seat casually with other telling the honored seats.But,hosts always sit on the seats close to the door.While,if it is a square table,the seat facing the door regards to be the most honored for the most important guest or the oldest.The left seat close to the seats is the second most important and the right one is the third.The host will sit the seat close the door in order to supply dishes."
E:"It's so complicated to remember.And why you have this manner?"
D:"I have heard that long long ago ,people live in the cave.The impotant people could sit facing the door,so he could see if there is something dangerous,then he could escap quickly.So,the guest is very impotant."
C:"Yes,you are so clever!Chinese people use chopsticks and spoons instead of the forks and knives.One should never keep his chopsticks upright on his bowl,for which regarded to commemorate the death."
F:"oh ,that will be very impolitely."
A:"Yes,and don't tap on your bowl with your chopsticks.Beggars tap on their bowls,so this is not polite.Also,when the food is coming too slow in a restaurant,people will tap their bowls.If you are in someone's home,it is like insulting the cook."
B:"Like westen world,Chinese people don't like people talk with mouthfull or make a loud noise when you eat your food."
E:"Yes,we think that is politeness."
FDE:"Thank you for your food and telling so many Chinese table manners."
C:"You are welcome,and we hope you come again,we could tell you more.And my mother will cook different Chinese food for you!"
