Hello everyone,I am Li Hua from Xingguang middle school.Today I am standing here to talk about some reasons to ride a bicycle.
Before talking about the bicycle,please allow me to start with the the current environmental problems caused by vehicles.One of the environmental problems is air pollution.We are not living in an industrial city,so the air pollution in our city mainly comes from vehicle emission.Another problem would be the terrible traffic jam which happens in the rush hour.Most of the important cities of the world suffer from traffic jam every single day.The reason lies in the sharp increase of vehicle quantity.And there are even more problems caused by the gas powered vehicles.
By contrast,the bicycle,which is man-powered,is much environmentally friendly.And,environmental protection is not the only advantage of riding a bicycle.Saving people’s money on gas as well as parking fees can also be one of the reasons why I prefer bicycles.What’s more,people can get exercise through bicycle riding.Although any movement is exercise,riding a bicycle takes a lot more movement than pressing the gas peddle.
It should be made clear that my speech is not about getting rid of cars,buses,or subways.We need them to get across the city sometimes,as they are faster than a bicycle.Rather,I am advocating for people to not solely rely on these forms of transportation because as I have mentioned above,a bicycle is not simply a means of transportation,but a new way of living.
