ON KEEPING A DIARY IN ENGLISH
Although I have just begun to keep a diary inEnglish, I have found a lot of benefits.
Firstly, I think it is a good way to improvemy writing. When I started to keep a diary, I had to think about how toorganize each sentence. I had to pay attention to English grammar.
Secondly, I found that it is also a good wayto improve my English spelling. Eventhough I know the pronunciation of many words, still I am unable to spell themcorrectly. I think the reason is that I do not have practice in spelling words.If a word is spelt frequently, it will be remembered for a long time.
Thirdly, my writing speed and thought will beimproved a lot.
At the beginning, keeping an English diary isnot easy. Sometimes, I do not know what to write (or even what to write). SinceI do not need to hand in my diary to my teacher, I may not be motivated towrite regularly. It is so easy to give up.
I would like to give some my suggestions onhow to keep a diary. You should encourage yourself and try to overcome anydiffidence. You can write down everything that you have seen or something youare interested in. Do not mind if the words of your diary are short or long.You should be aware that practice is the most important thing and practicemakes perfect. You should regard keeping a diary in English as your hobby andfind joy and humour in it. 'Nothing is impossible'. If you persist in keeping adiary in English, you will soon begin to get good results.
