the other：1）与one搭配使用：one……the other…… 只能用于2者。：一个……另一个…… 例如: I have two friends. One (friend) is Tom, the other (friend) is Bob.

other: 前面不带the的时候，它只能做定语，后面必须加个复数可数名词，才能做句子的主语宾语。例: I

Others：1) 它相当于一个名词，others＝other ＋复数名词,I have some other books. = I have some others.
2) 还经常与some搭配使用。Some……others……，例：In the park there were many people, some were talking, others were walking.
the others：“其余所有的”，后面不能再加复数名词，它本身就等同于一个复数名词。故：the other books＝the others
another：1）“另一个”，后面只加单数可数名词，another one， another boy
2）“另几个” another＋数词＋复数可数名词 another two days， another two schools＝two more schools
2、join in take part in join 的区别
join：后面加团队、组织等，或者加人做宾语：join the army， join us
join in：后面接一次活动，不接团队组织。Join in the Olympics 还可以说 join us in the game
take part in ：后面接一次活动，不接团队组织。Take part in the sports meet。这是从开始就加入，join in是中途、半路加入，是别人正在进行的时候加入进去。
3、look after take care of 的区别
应该说区别不大。
