I have known a lot about the Olympics since I was a little boy.I can still remember the first time I got up at 3 o’clock in the early morning to watch the opening ceremony of the Atlanta Olympics at the age of six.
Since that time,the Olympics,in my point of view,has been holy and distinguished.Though nearly all the sports practiced nowadays are competitive,they rarely lead to violence.On the contrary,they often create goodwill between nations and even can stop an ongoing war!
On the other hand,the games show equality and human dignity.Facing the sports rules,athletes have no difference of nation,color of skin or age.
However,in my childhood,I felt that the Olympics were so far away from me.It was holy and distinguished,but it seemed to be irrelevant to me.But one day,something changed my mind.
July 13,2001 is a day all Chinese should remember.China succeeded in gaining the chance to host the Olympics in 2008.That night,all my family members were sitting in front of the TV.When we heard the word “Beijing,” I couldn’t help screaming.We laughed happily and it was a long time before my beating heart finally calmed down.
During the days that followed,I truly realized that the Olympics had come into our daily life,quietly but quickly.It seemed that everyone started to love sports!
Then I discovered the true meaning of the motto “higher,faster and stronger.” The Olympics was not only a kind of game,but also a spirit which has reached every corner in the world!Though the Olympic flame may be thousands of kilometers away from me,the Olympic spirit has been deep in my young heart for a long time!
Soon the Olympics will be held in Beijing.I can almost imagine the Olympic flame being paraded on Tiananmen Square,beside the Great Wall and by the bank of the Yangtze River — the same flame will spread across China,together with the spirit of the Olympics

Olmpic Games in My Heart

Good evening everyone,
First of all ,thank you for giving me a chance to make a speech about the Olmpic Games .As we all know that ,every four years athletes from all over the world take part in the Olmpic Games .The Olmpic motto is "Swifter ,Higher ,and Stronger."It means that every athlete should try to run faster ,jump higher ,and throw further.
During the 2004 Athens Olmpic Games ,the Chinese team got the second place with 32 gold medals.We are very proud of that.And hosting the Olmpic Games is another rich price for our country.The Olmpic Games in 2008 is awarded to the city of Beijing,with the motto"New Beijng,Great Olmpics".
I think hosting the 2008 Olmpic Games will have a positive effect on the Chinese economy.The reasons are as follows:
First,there will be millions of foreigners come to China to see the Olmpic Games,these foreigners will consume during their staying in China,for example,they will eat Chinese food in restaurant,live in hotels or even travel around the whole country.
Second,the Olmpic Games create more job-opportunities for local workers.
Third,the past data show that most countries' economies have improved after hosting the Olmpic Games.
In 2005,the slogan for the Beijing Olmpic Games came out,that is,"One world,One dream".And I think it is an embodiment of the wisdom of hundreds of thousands of people.And it expresses the firm belief of our great nation,with a long history of 5000 years and on her way towards modernization,which is committed to peaceful development,a harmonious society and people's happiness.
At last,I wish the Beijing Olmpic Games in 2008 would be successful.
