游客朋友们,您们好,欢迎您到北海公园参观游览. 北海公园位于北京市的中心,是我园现存最悠久、保存最完整的皇家园林之一,距今已有近千年的历史. 北海园林的开发始于辽代,金代又在辽代初创的基础上于大定十九年（1179年）建成规模宏伟的太宁宫.太宁宫沿袭我国皇家园林“一池三山”的规制,并将北宋汴京艮岳御园中的太湖石移置于琼华岛上.至元四年（1267年）,元世祖忽必烈以太宁宫琼华岛为中心营建大都,琼华岛及其所在的湖泊被划入皇城,赐名万寿山、太液池.永乐十八年（1420年）明朝正式迁都北京,万寿山、太液池成为紫禁城西面的御苑,称西苑.明代向南开拓水面,形成三海的格局.清朝承袭明代的西苑,乾隆时期对北海进行大规模的改建,奠定了此后的规模和格局.
