Ten years ago, getting a single simple email was a thing to be excited about. Snail-mails were a far too common and ordinary thing compared to a high-tech email. However, at present, the situation has reversed. People get tons and tons of emails and spam, but yet it's considered a greatly normal event. Letters sent through the mailbox are considering a rare occasion now.
Internet is undoubtedly one of the most world-shattering inventions in history, connecting people all around the world with a simple click of the mouse and easily said to be one of the most efficient and the largest 'library' of resources. Invented just a few ten years ago, everyone went crazy over it, it was the in-thing of that period of time.
As time passed on, it seems that the people are taking the technology more and more for granted. Even I myself sometimes forget that the internet connection speeds of our age was much faster than a few years ago with the invention of fibre-optics and the constant upgradings.
Now, writing a letter, especially by hand, would be more often than not taken as an act of sincerity. Receiving a letter makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. These snail-mails are kept in the drawer specially for precious things.
Even though technology is no longer such a luxury now, nevertheless, we should be thankful for what we have now.
