We can see many natural disasters occurring at home and abroad recently, huge damage have been made either to the environment or to our human lives. Those natural disasters urge us to reconsider our beliefs and behavior toward our mother nature when we seek for clothes, food, and sheltering etc Therefore, what is your attitude toward the natural disasters? What shall we do to prevent us from being simply destroyed? What kind of role did we play in the creation of those dreadful disasters? Over the recent years, natural disasters have been frequently even than ever before. And the regions are also extensive, not only in developing countries as well as in some highly developed regions. For instance, the Wenchuan earthquake and Yushu earthquake occurred in our country have deprived thousands of people’s families and relatives, not mention to the property losses. Volcano erruption in Iceland also resulted in heavy blow on the originally dim economy in many western countries.
The paradox is : nowadays, scientific achievements and economic growth have made significant progress, which may be far beyond our ancestors dreams. Nonetheless, to our disoppointment, we discover we are far from preventing the occurance of natural disasters. Moreover, it is amazing to realize the natural disasters seem to be more frequent and more dangerous.
We can’t help asking what’s wrong with ourselves or our mother natures. There are several factors contributing to our confusion. Firstly, it is due to force majeure,eg. Volcano and earthquakes. Secondly, it is human beings’ harsh behavior toward the earth, for example, shortsighted lifestyle or production process. People cut down forests and waster water or pollute rivers. Thus, drought, sandstorm steps into our life one after another to remind us that the nature is always merciful unless we have done too over.
Thus, I think human being should reconsider their behaviors to preventing furthur deterioration of the environment and punishment from the deteriorated living space. Whatsmore, the science level should be enhanced so that more scientific forecast and precaustions can be achieved and losses would be eliminated or decreased .
