那么何时用关系代词,何时用关系副词呢?
请注意把定语从句修饰的那个名词（即先行词）带到定语从句中去,看定语从句中是不是缺介词,缺则用关系副词；不缺,则用关系代词.一个定语从句只用一个关系词.由此可见,关系代词和关系副词不可能同时出现,所以您说的在problem 后面加一个 that 再加why的情况不成立.
举例说明：
1.That's the reason that he explained at the meeting.这就是他在会议上解释的那个原因.(explain sth"解释..." ,在that引导的定语从句中,先行词the reason,作explain的宾语,不缺介词,指代物,用that或which )
2.That's the reason why he was late for school yesterday.这就是他昨天迟到的原因.
（在why 引导的定语从句中,把先行词带进去是：he was late for school the reason yesterday.即昨天由于这个原因他迟到了.“由于...的原因”用英语表达是：for the reason,所以缺了介词for,表原因就用why）
