When learning that the 2008 Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, China, every Chinese was excited. But what can we do for the Olympics?
As we know from the government officials, the weak point of Beijing lies not in the physical parts, such as roads, stadiums, or the environment, but in the cultural parts--persons. It means each one must enrich his or her knowledge and improve the behavior to be really civilized. First, language is of the utmost importance. So students should at least grasp one foreign language. And then we need more information about our home and other countries, which will help us to have harmonious talks with our foreign guests.
All in all, no matter what we want to do, knowledge is essential. So we should cherish the opportunity of acquiring knowledge and try to learn more in order to be ready for the need of the Olympics.
2. A Letter to the Children Disaster-stricken Areas (给灾区孩子的信)
I feel so sorry for your loss, maybe you're leading a happy life, but this unexpected terrible disaster destroyed all, no one expected that coming. But don't let the earthquake ruin your life and take your sunshine away! I hope you overcome the pain in a short time and get back to school with all your classmates. Hope you always feel beloved and protected, you must believe that there are a lot of nice people in our society and they're all willing to help if you meet any difficulties. I believe you are strong.
Life is hard, try to turn this memory into consistent power. No matter what happens, as long as we are together, we will never give up! There is always hope and love!
