The main way of thermal power is to use the coal boiler,that is to say,coal is the main fuel.There are many advantages in using coal to generate electricity.First,coal is the most common fuel that we can get easily,and it relatively low cost .Second,given the world wide reliance on coal to generate electricity,it is likely that thermal power technology is the most mature techology ,so we can control it better .But we have to see the nagetive effects of thermal power ,such as pollution ,wasting of resources because of poor efficiency.What 's more ,the coal is the non-regenerated energy,though the world's coal reserves is large,we will use it up some day if we can not use new energy.
