不知道要求替换的哪个句子,猜想大概是“Though it may be difficult to imagine from a later perspective（直译是：尽管对后人来说也难以想象）”吧
那么,换成“ As surprising as it seems today （即便是放在今天也是令人称奇的）”就可以理解了.
