It is the summer of 1903.An impecunious American--Henry landed in London by accident,Because he has none,he becomes the object of a wager between two wealthy brothers,who want to find out if a man with a million pound note in his bank account could live comfortably for one month on the strength of that note--without ever spending a penny of it.He just wanted an honest job,but they gave a letter to him and told him that there was money in it and he couldn’t open it until two o’clock..
Outside a restaurant He looked at the envelope without opening it and decided to go in.he ordered some ham and eggs and a nice big steak and a cup of coffee and a pineapple dessert and a large glass of beer,he was very hungry,so he ate like a wolf,when he finished every food,then he ordered same thing again.The waiter,the hostess and the owner all were surprised and worried about he didn’t pay his bill.It was two o’clock,he opened the envelope and held a million pound bank note in his hand.All people were shocked; they thought he was a very strange,rich man.They had tried to cozy up to him.The owner promised he could come whenever he wanted and had whatever he liked.
