I believe that as a college student, probably about 18 years old, and it is high time for him to be independent.Being independent means that one should not rely on others and be self-reliant. College students have been matured psychologically and physically and can cope with their daily life on their own without their parents help. Being independent has a lot of advantages.Firstly, being independent can make college students mentally mature. Living on campus they have to deal with their daily life by themselves and communicate with teachers and classmates alone. Inescapably, there are a lot of problems in their life which will be good chances to improve their abilities and skills of communication.Secondly, being independent can make college students have a sense of responsibility. As long as the make a decision independently, they must shouler the responsibility alone. Finally, being independent will make students develop self-confidence, an important attribute in our life. Being Independent is not the only thing you should learn in campus, there are other cherished qualities that you should have: courtesy, honesty , sincerity and so on. You will learn how to cooperate and organise. From the activities that you may take part in, you can learn what you haven't learned before. For one of colleges' duties is to transcend good students into good citizens. And that is where their success lies.
