After having visited the CPE,I learn so many things about how to be a professional educator.Especially after the interview with the daycare people,I realize that it’sreally important for an educator to have many qualities.For examples,being aneducator,we have to respect all the different values and cultures of children,no matter who they are and we should understand their backgrounds and should not discriminate them; we should treat everyone equally for they all have the right to learn.Also we have to be patient with them,we cannot force them to do anything they don’t want to do,and we have to take time to teach them slowly.To be a professional educator,the ability to organize is a very important element,because you have to organize children needs and see what their differences and reactions are.For example,if you find that a child’s face is red which is abnormally different from others,you should realize that the child may have a fever or infection; and you immediately know how to deal with it.
I understand that it’s not very easy to be a professional educator,because you have to pay a lot of attention and focus on the children,spend plenty of time to play with them and teach them.Moreover,you have to be careful while the children are under your care; if anything happens to any of them,the parent may blame you for it.I believe that is the most stressful thing for the educator.I know there are still too many things to be learnt,for example,the proper approach of dealing with children who are handicapped or having other problems.I will keep on learning to be a real professional educator and getting to understand more about children.
If there are more learning opportunities coming my way,I would like to know more about how other educators handle the children,how they deal with difficult issues about children and how they solve the problems.I understand that this daycare center that I had visited is different from others and I am curious about it.So if I have the chance to visit this daycare again,I would like to find out how it operates.I really hope that my wish will come true.
