As a current business and trade Mandarin student at Xiamen University and a person with long-term interest in Chinese law,business development and global procurement,it is with great enthusiasm that I am writing to inquire about possible summer internship positions with Aker Solutions.I have long admired Aker Solutions in terms of their global outreach,ever-growing presence in China,and the extraordinary commitment to developing not only their business but also their people.I believe that my knowledge,skills,and experience make me a strong candidate for any internship positions at Aker Solutions.
Before studying at Xiamen University I was employed as a corporate English trainer and delivered classes and seminars to companies such as Emerson Power Transmission,Black and Decker,and Bugaboo.My time spent working with these companies not only allowed me to develop excellent interpersonal communication skills,but also helped me gain valuable experience working in a multicultural environment thus providing me with a deeper understanding of the challenges facing foreign firms operating within China.
From May 2008 to August 2008,I had the good fortune to obtain part-time work as an editor for legal documents,government circulars,and PRC commercial law.It was during this time that I became intensely interested in the Chinese legal system and business practices and my unquenchable thirst to learn as much as I can about it continues to this day.This experience also gave me the idea and skills necessary to start my own current freelance translating side business concurrent with my full-time academic pursuits.I believe that the ambition and drive I have exhibited in studying and working for the last several years could be put to great use at your firm.
