A boy comes to ask a fisherman(渔夫)how he could become clever(聪明),because his mother is always calling him a fool(傻瓜).
“That’s easy,”answers the fisherman.“It’s said a fish head is good for the brain(大脑).If you eat one,you’ll become clever at once.One fish head costs just 3 punds.”
The boy pays him 3 pounds and the fisherman cuts off a fish head and hands it to him.
Uncooked fish head is not good-not even for a hungry boy to eat,but the boy eats it up in two gulps(大口).
“Do you feel anything ”asks the fisherman.
“Not in my head,”the boy says.The boy lies on the ground and thinks,“One
whole fish costs only 2 pounds.I pay him 3 pounds for the fish head.I can have the fish head,its body for soup(汤)and still have 1 pound left over.”He jumps up and shouts at the fisherman,“You cheat(骗子)!You!”The fisherman laughs,“Now the fish head is working!”
