Has anyone ever asked you the question that what your most favorite gift given by someone?Or something sounds like this?If someone asks me these kinds of questions,then I will immediately say yes.
The necklace that my mother gave me on my 14th birthday is probably the most valuable and favorite item that I have ever got.Of course,it is not only because of the quality,but also because of its meaning.Actually,I am always wearing it around my neck even now in order not to lose it.
I can say the necklace is a very important and very familiar item to me.I don’t know why,but it makes me feel better whenever I feel troubled or I feel heavy at heart.I just close my eyes and hold the necklace in my hand,then everything becomes alright and I feel much more comfortable than before.I want you to know that I am neither Christian nor Buddhist.The reason why I mentioned this is because I think usually Christians or Buddhists have a religious symbol such as necklace or ring that can make them feel better.Also they believe that it has a power from the God.Don’t they?Although I cannot prove how it gives me strength,I trust that it has a special power.Probably,the necklace is the most precious one of my belongings.
I still remember the day,of my 14th birthday,when my mother gave me the beautiful necklace as a gift.It was exactly April 21st,2011 and I remember that day vividly.It was a wonderful day for me.I cannot forget that my heart thumped so fast before I opened the gift box.I took a breath deeply.And finally,I could feel tears in my eyes when I opened it.I could see a fantastic silver necklace inside a box which my mother gave me.Because I was really surprised,I couldn’t say anything when I saw it first.I thought it was the brightest thing or shiny thing that I had ever seen.At least,as I thought.
Now I can see it hanging on my neck.In fact,my mother said that my necklace is made of gold,even though it has silver color.Before she told me about that,I thought it is silver because of its color.Just like me,most of people often wonder whether it is gold or silver.Anyway,I don’t really care about that.
The pendant of my necklace is about 2 cm in length,and 0.5 cm in width.Well,it is not quite small.Also the shape of my pendant is pretty simple.It just shows my name,Rachel,in cursive letters.That’s it.No more decorations and no more letters at all.Do you think it is too simple?Whatever you think,I think absolutely not.It is already shiny and beautiful enough to me.
If I could,I really want to go back to that moment I got my necklace from my mother and relive this memory.About that much,that day,my 14th birthday,was perfectly fine to me.No matter what I get in the future,my necklace still will be the unforgettable gift that I ever got.Even though I would become older,my necklace would hold one of the most memorable and cherishing parts of my life.

I remember distinctly a birthday present I received two years ago.It was my tenth birthday.Mother and Father were busy preparing for my tenth birthday party.They wanted it to be special for me although I would have preferred a simpler birthday.I helped to put up my own balloons and streamers in the house to give it a party mood.My relatives and friends came on time.It was a wonderful day.
I always receive tons of gifts on my birthday,but that year,one gift surprised me the most.My aunt,who had just got back from Australia,arrived with a brown cardboard box in her hands.She was carrying it with utmost care and there was a yellow ribbon placed on top of the box.However,what caught my attention was not the brightly coloured ribbon but the numerous tiny holes around the box.My aunt told me to open it immediately because it was small and it needed care.I thought it was strange to open a present before cutting the birthday cake but she sounded so serious that I had to open the box.
Before I peered inside the box,a tiny nose popped out from under the lid.I gently lifted the lid and found the cutest little thing alive.It was a guinea pig from Australia.Its hair was white and long and it made a high-pitched squeal whenever it became scared.I decided to name it Phi Phi because of its squeal.Everyone at the party thought it was adorable.Even my elder sister,who disliked animals,took to it.It was a special gift that I treasure till today.
