8:1于是各人都回家去了。耶稣却往橄榄山去。
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
8:2清早又回到殿里。众百姓都到他那里去，他就坐下教训他们。
And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
8:3文士和法利赛人，带着一个行淫时被拿的妇人来，叫他站在当中。
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
8:4就对耶稣说，夫子，这妇人是正行淫之时被拿的。
They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
8:5摩西在律法上吩咐我们，把这样的妇人用石头打死。你说该把他怎吗样呢。
Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
8:6他们说这话，乃试探耶稣，要得着告他的把柄。耶稣却弯着腰用指头在地上画字。
This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
8:7他们还是不住的问他，耶稣直起腰来，对他们说，你们中间谁是没有罪的，谁就可以先拿石头打他。
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8:8于是又弯着腰用指头在地上画字。
And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
8:9他们听见这话，就从老到少一个一个的都出去了。只剩下耶稣一人。还有那妇人仍然站在当中。
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
8:10耶稣就直起腰来，对他说，妇人，那些人在那里呢。没有人定你的罪吗。
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
8:11他说，主阿，没有。耶稣说，我也不定你的罪。去吧。从此不要再犯罪了。
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
