my impression of my teacherDuring my reciting,I suddenly thought of Ms.Jiang,then recalled the intensive reading class last semester:Ms.Jiang leaned at the lectern naturally and elegantly,opening her mouth gently,with a stream of witticism.Although the voice wasn’t loud,it can always give me an intellectual shock.When we were preparing the TEM-4 like a raging fire,Ms Jiang taught us writing.But I still hold the view that she is more fitful to teach intensive reading for junior students.I indeed love Ms.Jiang’s intensive reading class,the more I take Ms.Jiang’s lectures,the moreI like them.!There are quite a few reasons for my feeling,I’ll list them one by one as follows:First of all,Ms.Jiang enjoys an excellent personal and working habit.It can be proved from her well-arranged teaching schedule and well-organized working procedure.I clearly remembered that one ten-minutes rest when I was sophermore,I happened to see she was correcting our assignments when I went to teachers’ office.As I asked her when to fetch them,she raised her head and answered me with a smile:I’m working on it.To the fact,it was just after the writing class.From above I suppose that Ms.Jiang has developed a good habit which the necessary task must be finished as soon as possible even when she was studying in the school.Only this point makes me distant to her.For myself,from my childhood even to now,I kept finishing the task narrowly before the deadline.Although I suffered a lot from it many times,I still couldn’t change it.Speaking of Ms.Jiang’s responsibility,I’ve quite a lot to say.Remembering that Ms.Jiang’s writing class was the first lesson after the weekend we had our TEM-4,and it was the only class we had that week.The rest of the week we watched films for all the other English classes.Only Ms.Jiang didn’t let us be free,instead,she encouraged us to proceed to the next higher objective.Her mood can be perceived by seldom students at that time.But when I recalled this in present time,I always pay my respect and gratitude to her.As for last semester,our class carefully analyzed more texts than Class 1 and Class 2,and we translated more sentences and learned more knowledge than them.There is no denying the fact that all of these were the results of Ms.Jiang’s responsibility.Furthermore,we never end the class five minutes in advance.These small five minutes constitutes a complete lesson,which teaching knowledge was done in the process of many a little makes a mickle.Ms.Jiang’s strictness was often misunderstood by some of my classmates.I found inner resolution and principle from a quite gentle and soft appearance when I saw through this strictness.Lucy once joked that Ms.Jiang was “a smiling murderer”,whose words were soft,tones were calm,but the questions she brought up were surprisingly harsh just like throwing knives one after another,making us caught unprepared.People who can respond to this are not others except diligent Lucy and smart Shelley.Well,in my opinion,this is the respectful point of Ms.Jiang.As an old saying goes:“A strict teacher makes successful students.”Next,I want to describe Ms.Jiang’s major level.I earnestly hope that I can attend her American Literature course when I enter the senior.But to my disappointment,our department didn’t arrange this course for her.One who doesn’t attend Ms.Jiang’s literature course cannot get to know her real charm.Until today,I still memorized clearly the scenes when she was talking about William Faulkner,appreciating the text A Rose for Emily,analyzing The Bluest Eyes.There was continuous strong feeling striking me when I was sitting in her class.All of these together with my reading of Hawthorne and The Scarlet Letter established a wonderful time.It helped a lot for my understanding of American Literature,foreign culture,and my comprehension and appreciation of western writers’ thought.It isn’t an easy thing for one to open the mouth gently with a stream of witticism,like a writer produces wonderful writing with vivid description.It calls for enormous potentiality in Literature and abundant preparation before class.Last but not the least,I love her natural and elegant presentation the most:The scenes when Ms.Jiang was telling her own stories,when she was chatting events and trifles,when she was judging other teachers were all unforgettable.I get to know the life from her experience,through her mouth and her heart.I suppose this was the process of cultivating our mind.Writing this essay for my beloved Ms.Jiang,love her for her literary talent and gentleness,for her coolness and strictness,for her calmness and elegance.May my Ms.Jiang young and pretty for ever!
