My hometown is quite a modern city as its public transports are very convenient to transfer people to most places in the city and many cities in the country.
Within the city the cheapest public transport surely are buses. As cheap as 1.2 Yuan per ride each time and you can go to any stop it will pull over on its route. Almost every junction contents one bus station, that means you could go to any place by making no more than one transfer. The most convenient transports are taxies, you will never wait more than one minute to catch one from the main road. And they are performing very warm services to all passengers.
If you want to go to other cities, we have trains, coaches, even air planes. All of the stations are close to the town center and you could book, buy, and return the tickets from many ticket-points all over the city.
In the future, our city are planning to further develop undergrounds, sky-trains, and light rail transits, by then people would have much more choices and would much quicker to travel from one place to another.
