In the future,mobile standard-specific core
networks may collapse horizontally and vertically.
The former means that the level of integration
with the fixed network infrastructure will be closer

native IP mechanisms are emerging with the
potential to substitute ATM in the UTRAN.The
resulting “cellular Internet” shares the unique
Internet infrastructure with mobile and fixed,
public and private users.
