Dear Tom,

How are you?

It has been a long time since our last letter has been exchanged, and I am thinking of things to tell you that can help you learn about the Chinese culture. So this time I would like to share with you my national holiday experience because it is interesting, loving and exciting.

My family’s plan for national holiday is that we go back to our hometown and spend three days with my grandparents. In the first day’s morning, my mum urged me when i was still in the bed. She said”Cathy, get up, we will go to your grandparents’.” As i heard about this, i get up quickly. My grandparent lives in countryside,; their house faces with a clean river which is surrounded by willow trees and poplars. Wild ducks and goose are walking quietly and leisurely. Our dinner is prepared by one of my cousins, and our big family sit together, laugh loudly and eat happily. My grandparents are happy to see our big family get together, and we are happy to see that our grandparents are happy.

So dear Tom, valuing family and relative bond is one part of our Chinese culture. We respect eldly people, and we emphasis family relationship. And that’s for today’s story! :)
