中国诗歌自其萌芽,就开启了伤时的传统,自此历代不绝.春和秋作为时间流逝的象征,沉淀为经典意象,留存于历史文本中.
伤时诗的身体基础一节认为,身体首先是浑一的存在,既是感知主体,又是感知对象,其次,身体真正秉承时间性,最后,身体是不可分享的身份标示,在某种程度上等同于个体.对时间的审美体验——伤春悲秋,正是作为时间性存在的个体身体,在夹缝中寻求自我确证的结果.
伤时诗的对象基础是温带的气候条件,使得时间的把握与内化异常容易.首先,夏冬纯粹沉寂,缺少变动；春秋则暧昧动荡,更能体现时间的流动,循环的特征.其次,夏冬严酷的气候带来的生存问题,就不如春秋更易进入审美状态.而社会对存在的焦虑提供了环境,使其不断滋生发展.
伤时诗的逻辑脉络中,通过相关标志性文本,梳理了时间意义由混沌到生成,聚焦,深化,脱落的历史逻辑.《诗经•七月》中,时间成为有序的节奏性流动.《楚辞》里,意义向两季围拢聚焦.后来,两季之上的意义逐步深化.禅宗的理性澄清过后,诸多附加意义脱落,出现了松弛空明的诗境.但伤春与悲秋的传统并未结束,而是转入了随后出现的词曲等形式中.
在对伤时诗的审美内涵分析中,选取了三种典型意象加以审美分析.通过对伤春与悲秋的审美内涵进行比较,认为二者虽然同为感伤,前者较为浅层,表现为对青春时光的留恋；后者更为深层,表现为对生命意义的诘问.
