David Moor teaches scienceat the City School. He needs expensivebooks， so he buys them. He leaves them in his car on a quiet street. Then he buys otherthings at other shops. At six o'clock he comes back to his car. But he finds one window is openand the books are not there. David says nothing and drives home on Fry Road. That night he writes a letter to a newspaper. The next day he goes to the police station.On Friday people read the following in the newspaper： Do you have any old books？ I buy old books.Open all day on Saturdays. David Moor， 26 Fry Road. David stays all day at home on Saturday. His firstvisitor comes at eight o'clock. David takes him to thekitchen . At half past nine another man arrives. He has a bag under his arm. "Mr Moor？" theman asks. "That's right，" David says， "Can I helpyou？ I've got some good books. You buy books，don't you？ Yes. Bring them in. I'll have a look at them. " Soon the books are on the dining table. "Come in now"， David calls and brings the list. A policeman comes into the dining room. He reads the names on the books. Andthen he reads the names on the list in his hand. They are the same. "Come with me， sir，" thepoliceman says to the man.
